The challenge
After separating from its parent company, a Southern Wisconsin manufacturer of seasonal products gained independence but lost all of its IT. Every server, application, network, and software license belonged to the parent company. With its busiest season only weeks away, any downtime would hit sales and customer contracts directly.
- No IT footprint. No servers, network hardware, or software licenses.
- An urgent timeline. Peak season was weeks away.
- Applications to rebuild. ERP, CAD, inventory, and order management had to be reestablished securely.
- Security exposure. Without a firewall or secure network, operations faced significant cyber risk.
What TSR did
- Cloud-first build. TSR built a fully virtualized environment in Microsoft Azure with virtual servers for ERP, file storage, and application hosting, sized to scale for seasonal spikes.
- Network and security. TSR deployed a secure virtual network connecting every location, a next-generation firewall with intrusion prevention and content filtering, and VPN access for remote and sales staff.
- Applications. TSR installed and configured ERP for order processing and production scheduling, CAD for product design, inventory and supply chain tools, and email and collaboration suites.
- Data recovery and migration. TSR recovered essential data from the parent company's archives, migrated it to the new servers, and set up automated cloud backup with disaster recovery.
- Ongoing management. TSR provides 24/7/365 monitoring of cloud resources and the network, help desk support, user training, and quarterly security reviews.
